Cong trounces BJP in Kanker Dist Co-op Union elections

Congress leaders won the recently concluded elections of Chhattisgarh based Kanker District Cooperative Union. In this election State Vice-President of Mahila Congress and Former District Panchayat Member Sio Potai was elected as President of the Union.

She got 8 votes while her rival BJP leader Hemlata Parate received five votes. Narad Puram was elected as Vice President. Nitin Potai became the delegate of the State Cooperative Union.

The 13 governing members exercised their votes. It is to be noted that after the establishment of Kanker District Cooperative Union in 2017, it is the first time that the congress party has won a one-sided victory.
