An outreach programme on the New Income Tax Act, 2025 under PRARAMBH2026 was organised by the Income Tax Office, Ballari at Siruguppa in Ballari district last week, drawing participation from around 65 stakeholders, including representatives of cooperative societies, chartered accountants, rice millers, jewellery traders and members of the local business community.
The programme focused on creating awareness about the key provisions and compliance framework under the New Income Tax Act, 2025.
Officials delivered detailed presentations on return filing procedures, assessment mechanisms, appellate provisions and taxpayer compliance requirements. A teaser video highlighting the objectives and salient features of the new legislation was also screened during the session.
The participation of cooperative societies assumed significance as the new tax framework is expected to impact accounting practices, compliance systems and financial reporting standards across the cooperative sector. Brochures and awareness materials were distributed among participants, while stakeholder feedback was collected to strengthen taxpayer facilitation and outreach initiatives.
The programme was well received, with participants appreciating the efforts to improve awareness and preparedness regarding the upcoming tax regime and its implications for businesses and cooperative institutions.
