Co-ops can’t change name without reason: Central Registrar

Osmanabad based multi-state co-op society named Bhugol Multi-state Urban cooperative credit society failed to get its amendment approved by the office of the Central Registrar last week.

Rejecting the application under Sub section 9 of section 11 of the Multi state co-op Act 2002, the office of Central Registrar says that the society in question has asked for change in its registration name but it has not provided any justified reason for the same.

“In view of the above the proposed amendment to the bye-laws cannot be considered for approval according to the MSCS Act”, the letter to the society from the office of Central Registrar reads.
