Co-op Banks disburse impressive Farm Loans in Banswara

Cooperative banks have extended more than Rs 3,150 crore in agricultural loans to farmers across Banswara and Dungarpur districts in Rajasthan, Cooperation Minister Amit Shah informed the Lok Sabha on Tuesday.

According to the details placed before the House, the Banswara Central Cooperative Bank disbursed short-term crop loans worth Rs 1,950.16 crore to 3,00,659 farmers in Banswara and Pratapgarh districts during the period under review. It also facilitated Rs 42.19 crore through interest and compensatory interest subvention.

The Dungarpur Central Cooperative Bank sanctioned short-term crop loans worth Rs 1,155.94 crore to 4,36,761 members in Dungarpur district. It also sanctioned Rs 5.33 crore under the Rajasthan Sahakari Gopal Credit Card scheme to 756 members.

Shah said 47 Custom Hiring Centres have been established in Banswara, benefiting 3,217 farmers, while 169 PACS are functioning as PM Kisan Samriddhi Kendras, benefiting 33,320 farmers.

Further, 235 PACS have been computerised and declared Go-Live/e-PACS, while NCDC disbursed Rs 2.32 crore in assistance to Banswara and Dungarpur over the last five years.
