Rajasthan based Chittorgarh Urban Cooperative Bank marked the beginning of its Silver Jubilee Year with a grand ceremony held at the Indira Priyadarshini Auditorium last week.
The event was graced by Rajasthan Governor Haribhau Bagde, who also laid the foundation stone of the bank’s upcoming new head office.
Chairman I.M. Sethia welcomed the Governor with a traditional Mewari Pagdi and briefed him on the bank’s journey, achievements, and future vision.
The ceremony witnessed the presence of several dignitaries including Member of Parliament CP Joshi, RBI Central Board Director Satish Marathe, and Principal Cooperation Secretary Manju Rajpal, among others.
Addressing the gathering, Governor Bagde emphasized the transformative role of cooperatives in rural employment. “Millions have found livelihoods through cooperatives. Rajasthan must tap into its vast potential, particularly in dairy cooperatives, which can uplift the economically weaker sections,” he said.
He urged the administration and government to support marketing avenues for animal rearers and underscored that cooperatives must be operated with sincerity and dedication to ensure long-term impact.
Highlighting the need for holistic development, the Governor stressed strengthening both intellectual and physical capabilities through education. “To raise the nation’s stature, we must invest in our human capital,” he noted, also emphasizing water conservation as a vital step for agricultural sustainability.
MP C.P. Joshi lauded the bank’s adoption of modern technology and its steady expansion. He described India’s emergence as the world’s fourth-largest economy as a matter of pride and attributed this success to collective effort and good governance.
