Chhattisgarh Congress President Deepak Baij has announced a statewide protest targeting alleged irregularities in cooperative societies across the state. Accusing the state government of mismanagement and political favoritism, Baij said the cooperative sector, meant to empower farmers and small producers, has been hijacked by corrupt practices and unaccountable leadership.
He has urged Congress workers to stage coordinated protests at cooperative societies, demanding audits, leadership changes, and fair access to loans and benefits for ordinary members.
Baij said mounting complaints have been ignored and warned that this was only the first phase of a broader campaign. The agitation is set to begin next week and will span major cooperative centers throughout Chhattisgarh.
