Centre reviews White Revolution 2.0 Progress

Secretary, Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying (DAHD), Naresh Pal Gangwar chaired a high-level review meeting on Tuesday, at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, to review the progress of White Revolution 2.0 and major animal husbandry and dairy development schemes across States and Union Territories.

The meeting was attended by senior central and state officials, including Ms. Varsha Joshi, Additional Secretary (CDD), Rama Shankar Sinha, Additional Secretary (Livestock Health), Dr. B. Maheswarappa Naveena, Animal Husbandry Commissioner, Jagat Hazarika, Adviser (Statistics), Siddharth Jain, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Cooperation, and Meenesh Shah, Chairman, National Dairy Development Board (NDDB).

Key schemes reviewed included the National Programme for Dairy Development, Rashtriya Gokul Mission, National Livestock Mission and National Digital Livestock Mission. The Secretary emphasised the vital role of dairy cooperatives in effective scheme implementation and farmer outreach.

Bibhas Bhattacharya, Managing Director, Gomati Cooperative Milk Producers’ Union Ltd (GCMPUL), represented Tripura’s cooperative dairy sector along with senior officials from the State’s Animal Resources Development Department.

The meeting reaffirmed the cooperative sector’s central role in achieving the goals of White Revolution 2.0 and strengthening rural livelihoods.
