Central Registrar allows AGMs in physical form

The Central Registrar of Cooperative Societies has allowed Multi-State Cooperative Banks to conduct Annual General Meetings in physical form.

The circular was issued to all Multi-State Cooperative Banks, all registrars of cooperative societies, all stakeholders on Monday which was signed by Jitendra Nagar, Deputy Commissioner (Cooperation).

It reads, “This authority has received requests from some of the multi state cooperative banks to conduct AGM online in view of Covid situation. Last year, this office had accorded approval to the multi-state cooperative banks for conducting AGM through VC/OAVM as a special case vide circular dated 25.08.2020”.

“The request has been examined. In view of the improving situation of Covid-19, the multi state cooperative banks are advised to conduct AGM in physical form as per the provisions of the MSCS Act, 2002 and rules made thereunder. This is issued with the approval of the Central Registrar of Cooperative Societies”, it concludes.
