Cash found near a co-op bank in Maharashtra

Following a tip-off that some people were carrying huge cash, Tirora police in Maharashtra impounded a vehicle parked opposite the Gondia District Central Cooperative Bank (GDCCB). A search, revealed that the vehicle had a bag with Rs 77 lakh cash, reports PTI.

The people occupying the vehicle could not give satisfactory answers about the cash. The cash seized was handed over to the tehsil treasury in Tirora.

Sources say the cash being carried could have been used during the forthcoming parliamentary election.
