British High Commissioner visits Amul dairy plant

British High Commissioner to India Alex W Ellis visited Amul’s biggest dairy plant at Gandhinagar, Gujarat on Friday last week.

Accompanied by Deputy High Commissioner of UK Peter Cook Ellis received a warm welcome from GCMMF Managing Director R S Sodhi.

Soon after the visit, Sodhi tweeted, “Extremely delighted to welcome High Commissioner of UK HE @AlexWEllis & Dy High Commissioner of UK @CookieInIndia at @Amul_Coop biggest dairy plant at Gandhinagar to apprise how India achieved self-sufficiency in milk and world’s largest producer”.

Replying to Sodhi’s tweet, Cook wrote, ” A pleasure to meet you again, sir. It was most useful to exchange views on how the UK and India can strengthen trade relationships even further”.
