Biscomaun: Vishal’s participation raises eyebrows

The participation of Vishal Singh, the scion of putative first family of the cooperative movement in the state in the 29th AGM of marketing cooperative federation Biscomaun, raised many eyebrows in Patna.

Without saying that a truce has taken place between him and his rival, Biscomaun Chairman said” what is the meaning of a fight in cooperative; I invited Vishal Singh as he is both NAFED and NCCF Director and is from Bihar; also he is the grandson of the legendary cooperator Tapeshwar Babu and thus he was our special invitee.”

In reply to a question from this reporter if so; why he was not there in the last year’s AGM, Sunil said “we had invited him last year too but due to his preoccupations he could not come”.

“What Modiji says is basically a cooperative slogan “ sabka sath aur sabka Vikas, Sunil expounded. The NDA govt led by Narendra Modi has coined the slogan for inclusive growth.

Not only Vishal Singh but another bete noire of Sunil, state cooperative union chairman Vinay Sahi also participated in the AGM. “Sahi is heading the state cooperative union which is for Bihar a body equivalent to NCUI at the national level, said Sunil. We are bound by our duty to invite him, he added.

Later in a whatsapp message Biscoamun Chairman wrote” in order to strengthen the cooperative movement in the state all cooperative leaders forgetting their narrow differences came to AGM”. This will make us stronger, he added.

Whatever be the truth but the fact remains that such cooperative bonhomie which had been missing in the state so far, was a welcome development. It bodes well for the movement, quipped several cooperators, Indian Cooperative talked to.
