The Bihar Government’s Cooperation Department is developing 1,750 Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS) as Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samriddhi Kendras (PMKSK) to make farming easier and more economically rewarding for farmers.
The initiative aims to provide fertilisers, agricultural services and relevant information under one roof, improving farmers’ access to essential inputs and support facilities.
By transforming PACS into PMKSK centres, the state government seeks to strengthen the cooperative network and make it a more effective platform for delivering agricultural services at the grassroots level.
The initiative is expected to reduce the difficulties farmers face in accessing fertilisers and other essential services while promoting convenience and efficiency.
The move also aligns with the broader objective of strengthening PACS as multipurpose institutions capable of supporting farmers beyond agricultural credit and contributing to rural development and agricultural prosperity.
