Bhima does India proud; inducted into ICA Board

The apex body of state cooperative banks-Nafscob’s Managing Director Bhima Subrahmanyam has been inducted as the regular member on the board of International Cooperative Alliance (ICA).

Subrahmanyam’s induction took place during the ICA General Assembly held at Brussels, Belgium on Wednesday. He is also the President of International Cooperative Banking Association (ICBA) of ICA.

Soon after his induction, Subrahmanyam shared the news with the Indian Cooperative through WhatsApp. He wrote, “Bhima Subrahmanyam , Managing Director, NAFSCOB and President, ICBA has been formally inducted today on 28 June 2023, by ICA General Assembly held in Brussels, as a regular Member of ICA Board from the permanent observer status”.

He also shared the Whatsapp group, where cooperators from across the country are its members, and congratulated him for his induction on the board of ICA.

Bhima Subrahmanyam has been the CEO and Managing Director of NAFSCOB since 1990. Prior to joining NAFSCOB, he had been associated with institutions like IIM Ahmedabad, ISRO and NIRD in India.

He was born and brought up in Bapatla, Guntur District, Andhra Pradesh. He graduated from Hindu college, Guntur and post graduated from Andhra University in 1969.
