Bhatol quits BJP, to contest LS election on Cong ticket

The former Chairman of GCMMF (Amul) Parthibhai Bhatol has quit BJP and joined Congress. The latter has nominated him as the Lok Sabha candidate from Banaskatha.

Bhatol was the Chairman of Amul for two terms and had fought B M Vyas, ex-MD of GCMMF with the support of BJP. But as the BJP refused to give him ticket this time he chose to join Congress which obliged him without losing a moment.

Parthi Bhatol’s son Vasant Bhatol, a BJP MLA also quit the party the other day. The junior Bhatol left the party with more than 100 supporters in a rather loud political show.

Parthi Bhatol has been a long time cooperator and also served as Chairman of the Banaskantha Milk Producers’ Union. It was Bhatol who replaced GCMMF founding chairman, Verghese Kurien in 2006.
