A 100 MTPD dung-based Compressed Biogas (CBG) plant has been inaugurated at Vinchhiwadi in Banaskantha, Gujarat, marking a major step towards converting cattle dung into clean energy and an additional source of income for dairy farmers.

Gujarat Legislative Assembly Speaker and Banas Dairy Chairman Shankarbhai Chaudhary said the project reflects the vision that “gobar is not waste” and can strengthen the dairy economy, reduce dependence on conventional fuels and promote a circular rural economy.

Gujarat Agriculture and Cooperation Minister Jitubhai Vaghani described the Banas Bio-CNG model as a new cooperative revolution, saying the initiative would enhance farmers’ incomes, encourage women’s participation in dairy farming and create rural livelihoods.

With technical guidance from NDDB and support from Suzuki, the project converts dung into CBG and organic manure, creating greater value for farming communities. Suzuki President Toshihiro Suzuki said the partnership is expanding towards more biogas plants.
