Assam has taken a major step towards improving the ease of doing business by making the registration of cooperative societies fully online, Cooperation Minister Kaushik Rai announced in a post on X.
Sharing details of the decision taken at the Assam Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma, Rai said the reform will streamline the registration process and reduce delays for cooperatives across the state.
Under the new system, dairy cooperatives will receive their registration certificates within one day, while other cooperative societies will receive certificates within 30 days.
The minister described the move as a “historic reform” that will significantly improve the ease of doing business and provide direct benefits to farmers, dairy producers and agri-entrepreneurs.
