National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India has supported the export of the first-ever honey consignment from Assam’s Baksa district to the United States, marking a significant achievement for local farmers and producer organizations.
The consignment was flagged off from Guwahati by Baksa Agro Fed Farmer Producer Company Limited. The Farmer Producer Company was promoted under the Cluster-Based Business Organization (CBBO), namely Salt Range Foods Pvt. Ltd..
The initiative is expected to open new international market opportunities for honey producers in Assam and strengthen the role of Farmer Producer Organizations in agricultural exports. NAFED’s support is aimed at enhancing market access, improving farmer incomes and promoting quality agricultural products from the Northeast in global markets.
