Arunachal Governor backs stronger Co-op movement

Chairman of the Arunachal Pradesh State Cooperative Union (APSCU), Nabam Tahi Nekil, met Governor Lt. General KT Parnaik (Retd.) in Itanagar to discuss the status and future of cooperatives in the State, media reports say.

Emphasizing access to larger markets, the Governor suggested boosting infrastructure like warehouses and cold storages, and using Hollongi and Tezu airports for exporting perishable produce.

He urged APSCU to empower grassroots cooperatives, align with PM Modi’s vision, and foster self-reliance in rural areas.

Assuring support, he pledged to take up key issues with the State Government. Nekil also presented a report from APSCU’s recent district tour highlighting progress and challenges.
