The Cooperative Election Authority (CEA) has approved the election of Unnao (Uttar Pradesh)-based cooperative leader Ankit Parihar as Vice-Chairman of Indian Farm Forestry Development Cooperative Ltd. (IFFDC), a subsidiary of IFFCO.
The approval was conveyed on Tuesday. Parihar, representing PFFCS, Bara Jhagarpur, in Unnao district, Uttar Pradesh, was elected unopposed to the post.
The Vice-Chairman position had fallen vacant after Guru Prasad Tripathi, who was elected Vice-Chairman in June 2024.
Parihar has also been active in electoral politics and is currently associated with the Samajwadi Party. He was earlier associated with the Congress and contested the Uttar Pradesh Assembly election from Bhagwantnagar on a Congress ticket and later on a Samajwadi Party ticket.
Following his election, Parihar met IFFCO Chairman Dileep Sanghani in Gandhinagar and expressed his gratitude to him for his support and guidance. Parihar also thanked the cooperative leadership for entrusting him with the responsibility.
The CEA has directed the Returning Officer to formally declare the election result and asked IFFDC to display the result prominently on its website.
