Anil Sole Panel sweep elections Shikshak Sah Bank

The panel led by the outgoing Chairman Anil Sole has made a clean sweep of the elections of Nagpur (Maharashtra) based Shikshak Sahakari Bank.

The election was held on Sunday last week and the result was announced on Monday. In the election Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari also cast his vote, because he is one of the shareholders of the bank.

The Sole’s panel got more than 3k votes and the only independent candidate Ramu Wanjari who contested the election from two seats i.e. General and OBC received less than 500.

Soon after the result, talking to the Indian Cooperative correspondent, the outgoing Chairman Sole said, “Our panel won all the seats on the board and we are very thankful to the shareholders who reposed faith in us”.

“We will work together to come out of the red. As our accumulated loss is around Rs 13 crore and we are hoping that in the next financial year, our bank will be in profit”.

It bears recall that the bank board consists of 17 directors out of which six seats are for SC/ST, VJNT. Women and Expert Directors have been elected unopposed. The elections were held for 10 general seats and a seat from the OBC category.

The bank has a business mix of more than Rs 1500 crore and has 22 branches in the Vidarbha region.
