Amul will procure and market Gujarat’s maldharis (pastoralists] goat milk as well, informs Indian Express. It is said the state government will extend a helping hand to the cooperative.
The state govt has assured the maldharis that a separate system for collecting goat milk and marketing it will soon be set up.
As per the release issued by the state govt, it is mulling steps to make maldharis, who herd goats, financially strong and self-reliant like their cattle-herder counterparts by facilitating sale of goat milk, the release stated.
