A day after Mother Dairy reduced rates post-GST revision, Amul is set to announce price cuts across 800 product packings. GCMMF MD Jayen Mehta confirmed reductions wherever GST has been lowered, media reports say.
Mother Dairy has already cut prices in Mumbai-tetrapack toned milk dropped from Rs 77 to Rs 75 per litre, paneer (200 gm) from Rs 99 to Rs 96, and 100 gm butter from Rs 62 to Rs 58.
Amul clarified milk pouch prices remain unchanged since GST on them was nil earlier. The revised rates take effect September 22, promising direct consumer benefits across India through Amul’s extensive cooperative-led distribution network.
