The State Cabinet’s nod to lease 20 bighas of land to AMUL for setting up a dairy plant at the Institute of Farm Management, Rani, marks a major step forward for the dairy sector.
With a capacity to process 1 lakh litres of milk daily, the state-of-the-art facility is expected to benefit around 20,000 dairy farmers and create entrepreneurship opportunities for local youth.
While dairy in the state remains underdeveloped, AMUL’s entry offers a proven model for success. Scientific milk production and improved market linkage can transform rural livelihoods and tackle rising unemployment effectively.
