Union Cooperation Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday highlighted a series of initiatives undertaken to strengthen the cooperative sector in Uttar Pradesh’s Amroha district, including the computerisation of 45 cooperative societies, creation of new Multi-Purpose PACS (M-PACS) and interest-free financial support under the ‘Sahkar Se Samriddhi’ initiative.
In a written reply to the Lok Sabha, Shah said three M-PACS godowns were modernised during 2024-25 at a cost of Rs 27.24 lakh, while QR code-based fertiliser payments have been introduced in all M-PACS. The 45 computerised PACS are also being integrated with Common Service Centres (CSCs) to deliver over 300 government and digital services.
The Minister said 10 selected M-PACS are being provided an interest-free credit line of Rs 10 lakh each, while two new M-PACS have been established at Kala Kheda and Hasanpur. He added that 31,323 new members were enrolled under the Maha-Sadasyata Abhiyan during 2024-25, followed by 15,720 more in 2025-26, significantly expanding the cooperative membership base in the district.
Shah also said PACS are being linked with Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan Aushadhi Kendras (PMBJKs), BBSSL and other national initiatives to enhance services for farmers.
