Union Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah informed the Rajya Sabha on Wednesday that artificial intelligence (AI) and digital platforms are being progressively integrated into cooperative training institutions across the country to modernize teaching and strengthen capacity building in the cooperative sector.
Replying to a question in the Upper House, Shah said institutions such as the Regional Institute of Cooperative Management (RICM), Chandigarh, are adopting technology-driven teaching methods.
These include smart classrooms equipped with interactive digital boards, projectors and ICT-enabled teaching tools, along with blended learning through e-content, online classes and Learning Management Systems (LMS). He added that digital learning initiatives are reviewed periodically to ensure their effective utilization.
The Minister further said the government is supporting the capacity building of teachers and cooperative professionals through Faculty Development Programmes (FDPs), refresher courses, seminars, workshops and webinars.
These programmes focus on cooperative management, banking and finance, governance, digital banking, digital transformation and other emerging areas, helping equip cooperative institutions with modern skills and technology-driven expertise.
