Advt row: GCMMF plans to knock SC doors

The war is not over yet. Amul’s MD R S Sodhi plans to go to the apex court against Bombay High Court judgment.

Earlier on Friday Bombay High Court had disallowed Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), from telecasting its television advertisement showing the ‘difference between ice creams and frozen desserts’ with immediate effect.

Sodhi also said simultaneously Amul is working on another campaign that brings out the differences between ice-creams and frozen desserts.

The GCMMF has been airing its ice cream ad and making statements about frozen desserts for good measure.

Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL) had filed a case on March 21, 2017 in the Bombay High Court seeking immediate removal of what is called the “misleading Amul ice cream advertisement”.

Kwality Wall’s sells both Ice Creams and Frozen Desserts in India and claims that its range of Frozen Desserts and Ice Creams contain milk solids/milk just like any other Ice Cream.
