The Ministry of Cooperation conducted 12,824 training programmes covering 8.18 lakh participants during the last three years from 2023-24 to 2025-26, Cooperation Minister Amit Shah informed the Lok Sabha on Tuesday.

Replying to a starred question by Krishna Prasad Tenneeti and Chandra Prakash Joshi, Shah said the programmes focused on capacity building, cooperative education and professional training for office-bearers, directors, CEOs, employees and members of cooperative societies.

Maharashtra accounted for 75,954 trainees, including 17 from the Jalgaon Lok Sabha constituency, while Rajasthan recorded 44,911 trained persons. In Jharkhand, 1,551 people were trained by Ministry institutes, apart from 2,003 trained by the State Government.

Shah said Tribhuvan Sahakari University (TSU) was established on April 6, 2025, by converting IRMA, with VAMNICOM Pune and ICM Jaipur affiliated with it.

Under the PACS computerisation project, 63,686 PACS had been onboarded on ERP-based software as of July 15, 2026, while 63,479 PACS personnel had been trained by NABARD.
