More than 6.57 lakh new RuPay Kisan Credit Cards (KCCs) have been distributed to dairy farmers in Gujarat, strengthening their access to institutional credit through the cooperative banking network.
The initiative is aimed at providing farmers with timely liquidity, lower-cost credit and convenient digital transactions through District Central Cooperative Banks (DCCBs) and the State Cooperative Bank (StCB).
The RuPay KCCs are expected to help dairy farmers meet working-capital requirements and manage recurring expenses more efficiently. The initiative also promotes seamless digital payments while providing dedicated financial support to the dairy sector.
By expanding KCC coverage through cooperative banks and PACS, the programme seeks to strengthen grassroots financial inclusion and support the livelihoods of dairy farmers. The initiative reflects the government’s broader focus on using cooperatives to deliver accessible financial services and advance the objective of “Sahkar Se Samriddhi”.
