33 Co-op Credit Societies honoured in Panchgani

The Maharashtra State Non-Agricultural Co-operative Credit Societies Federation, Mumbai, organised a two-day training workshop for office bearers of co-operative credit societies on February 27–28, 2026, at Hotel Cloud Mist, Panchgani. The programme was attended by chairpersons, vice-chairpersons, directors and chief executives from several credit societies across the state.

The workshop was inaugurated by Shivajirao Nalawade, former Chairman and Director of Mumbai Bank, along with Anil Kawade, Commissioner of the State Co-operative Election Authority. The introductory address was delivered by Federation Founder-Chairman Jijaba Pawar.

During the workshop, experts provided guidance on key issues including property attachment and sale procedures, election processes of credit societies, regulatory board functioning, business expansion and new model by-laws. Sessions were conducted by Advocate Ramchandra Pise, Balasaheb Taware, Milind Sobale, Shailesh Kotmire and Dr. Sopan Shinde.

A major highlight of the event was the Ideal Credit Society Awards 2025, where 33 co-operative credit societies from across Maharashtra were honoured for their outstanding performance in different working capital categories.

Pawar said the awardees were selected by an expert committee based on criteria similar to those prescribed by the Maharashtra government for Sahakar Maharshi and Sahakar Bhushan awards. The programme was compered by Vitthal Mane, while Gorakh Chavan delivered the vote of thanks.
