The Government informed Parliament that 1,19,839 active Dairy Cooperative Societies (DCSs), including 24,097 Multipurpose Dairy Cooperative Societies (MDCSs), have been registered on the newly launched Milk Supply Review Dashboard, strengthening digital monitoring of India’s dairy cooperative network.

Replying to a starred question in the Lok Sabha, Union Minister for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying Rajiv Ranjan Singh (Lalan Singh) said the portal provides state- and district-wise data, including details for Pali in Rajasthan and Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh.

The Minister said the Animal Husbandry Infrastructure Development Fund (AHIDF) has mobilised Rs 30,938 crore in private investment through a 3% interest subvention, including Rs 21,312.62 crore in the dairy sector.

He further informed the House that 4,019 Mobile Veterinary Units (MVUs) are operational under the Livestock Health and Disease Control Programme (LHDCP), including 406 units in Madhya Pradesh and 10 in Gwalior.

Their performance is monitored through regular reviews, state visits and third-party evaluations based on fund utilisation, farmers served and animals treated. The Government, however, said there is no proposal at present to introduce a new action plan for expanding MVUs or the dairy cooperative network.
