Pune based Vishweshwar Co-operative Bank has crossed the milestone of Rs 3,700 crore in total business as on March 31, 2026, while strengthening its digital banking capabilities with the launch of WhatsApp Banking. The bank also announced a 10% dividend for its members for FY 2025-26.

The announcement was made during the bank’s 55th Annual General Meeting, where noted banking expert Vidyadhar Anaskar inaugurated the new WhatsApp Banking facility. On the occasion, Chairman Anil Gadve thanked members and customers for their continued trust and reaffirmed the bank’s commitment to sustained growth and customer-centric services.

According to the bank’s annual report, total business stood at Rs 3,779.24 crore, comprising deposits of Rs 2,330.87 crore and advances of Rs 1,448.37 crore. Deposits grew by Rs 100.35 crore during the year, while the CASA ratio improved to 23.97%, reflecting the success of a focused CASA mobilisation campaign launched in November 2025.

The bank’s membership increased by 1,862, taking the total to 31,998. Share capital rose to Rs 763.35 crore, demonstrating strong confidence among members. Total investments also increased by Rs 127.66 crore to Rs 790.31 crore.

Despite a decline in advances due to the RBI’s emphasis on increasing small-ticket loans and the closure or takeover of some large loan accounts, the bank disbursed 13,404 loans worth Rs 726.62 crore during the year. The Credit-Deposit (CD) ratio stood at 62.14%.

The bank reported a net profit of Rs 11.76 crore, while noting that an additional provision of Rs 8.90 crore towards depreciation in government securities, as required under RBI norms, impacted profitability. Without this provision, the profit would have exceeded Rs 20.66 crore.

Asset quality remained under control, with Gross NPA at 4.84% and Net NPA at 2.69%. The bank maintained a Capital to Risk-Weighted Assets Ratio (CRAR) of over 15%, comfortably above the RBI’s minimum requirement of 12% for Tier III banks.

The bank also highlighted several operational initiatives during the year, including the introduction of transaction-enabled Internet Banking, establishment of a Risk Management Department, creation of a Centralised Processing Cell (CPC) for credit appraisal, appointment of Cluster Heads and Managers, and formation of a dedicated Marketing Department and Public Relations Office.

During the AGM, the bank felicitated banking expert Vidyadhar Anaskar, recipient of the Sahakar Maharshi Award, along with several personalities for their distinguished contributions in various fields.

With stronger digital offerings, sound capital adequacy, improving CASA deposits and continued compliance with RBI norms, Vishweshwar Co-operative Bank is positioning itself for sustainable growth while enhancing customer convenience through technology-driven banking services.
