Nafcub Director demands power of recovery

“I demand on behalf of Delhi UCBs that the power to recover loans be given to the Delhi federation so as to reduce the workload of RCS department”, said the chairman of Delhi Urban Cooperative Banks Federation Laxmi Das after meeting the newly appointed Delhi’s Cooperation Minister Rajendra Pal Gautam in New Delhi.

The delegation from Delhi Urban Cooperative Banks Federation sounded satisfied after meeting the newly appointed Delhi’s Cooperation Minister Rajendra Pal Gautam. The Minister had asked them in writing their ideas of strengthening the cooperative movement in the national capital.

Sounding optimistic about his meeting with the new minister, the chairman of Delhi Urban Cooperative Banks Federation Laxmi Das said “the Minister listened to us patiently and promised to resolve our problems without delay.

Janta Sahakari Bank Chairman Vijay Mohan, Nagrik Sahakari Bank, Narendra Nath, Citizen Cooperative Bank Chairman Moti Lal Bansal, Keshav Sahakari Bank, Chairman Gulati, State Cooperative Union Chairman P.M.Sharman, Jamia Cooperative Bank Chairman M.Q.H.Beg and others were members of the delegation.

Another issue discussed was the passage of the 97th Constitutional Amendment in Delhi Legislative. The Minister instructed the secretary of the department of cooperation to look into the matter immediately, said Das who is also the chairman of the leading bank of the Delhi-NCR region, Kangra Cooperative Bank.

Das said ”we urged the Minister to set up an advisory committee to oversee the activities of cooperatives. The Minister would soon meet us for further discussions”.

The meeting lasted more than half an hour.
