Mehta led GUCBF donates Rs 70 lac to CM Fund

The apex body of Urban Cooperative Banks Gujarat Urban Cooperative Bank Federation (GUCBF) has contributed a cheque of Rs 72,38,200 for the affected families in the wake of furious flood in Gujarat.

The Cheque was handed over to Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani by the President Jyotindra Mehta and other members in Ahmadabad. The two are said to be old pals and had begun their political journey together.

In a telephonic communication with this correspondent, Chairman of GUCBF Jyotindra Mehta said ““I appeal to all the Urban Cooperative Banks of Gujarat to contribute either in terms of relief material or in money. Hope, they will do the needful soon”, said Mehta.

The Chief Minister of Gujarat Vijay Rupani shared the photographs on social media and wrote “My appeal to all for generous contribution to the Chief Minister Relief Fund for rehabilitation of villagers as well as floods victims in Banaskantha and Patan districts in the state. The GUCBF has contributed a cheque of about Rs 72 lakh to the Chief Minister Relief Fund.

The Chief Minister appreciated and thanked all for extending their helping hand to the flood affected people of Gujarat.

Earlier, the fertilizer Cooperative IFFCO contributed Rs one crore for the affected farmers and their families in the flood devastated areas.

Meanwhile, Six Central Oil PSUs viz. ONGC, IOC, BPCL, HPCL, GAIL and OIL falling under the administrative control of the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas have contributed Rs 15 Crore to the Flood Relief Fund of the Chief Minister of Gujarat to aid the flood affected people of the State.
