Marching ahead VCB touches half a century mark

In a function marked by gaiety and celebrations the Vishakhapatanam Cooperative Bank opened its 50th branch last week at Dilshuknagar in Hyderabad. Manam Anjaneyulu Chairman Emeritus inaugurated the branch for the general public.

Anjaneyulu congratulated the members, customers, co-operators, management and Staff of the bank for working in a positive way and building the bank to move forward in the cooperative banking industry against all odds. It is not only the 50th branch but also the 4th branch in the city of Hyderabad and Telangana state, he added.

“As the target of opening 50 branches by 2020 has been accomplished two years before the deadline we need to set new targets for the future and also aim to open more branches in other states; people should look towards the cooperative sector as the future of the country”, Anjanelulu underlined.

The inaugural function was also graced by over 30 Cooperators and included Urban Co-op Bank Chairmen, CEOs, Managing Directors and Directors. Ramesh Kumar Bung, M S R V Prasad, Sangam Rama Krishna , Abdul Jeelani, M. Venkata Ratnam  , M R K Raju , B D Prasad Rao were some of those present on the occasion.

Others in the event included Dr P.B.Vijay Kumar, M. Purushotam Das, N Hari Krishna, Ch. Srinivas , Jaini Ramesh , Jetty Gopichand, , M Narasimha Reddy, , B Badri Narayana , D. Laxminarayana , N. Chandra Sekhar, Meka Siva Rama Prasad, G Krishnaiah , P Panduranga Rao, , G Madana Gopala Swamy, V Srinivas K Suryanarayana, A L N S Prakasa Rao, A Venkata Rao, K Damodar Rayudu, Smt Harini and several dignitaries from Cooperative Sector and a number of local members, customers and employees.

Speaking on the occasion Ramesh Kumar Bung has congratulated the management and the team of The Visakhapatnam Cooperative Bank for the achievement, Sri M S R V Prasad  congratulated all and expressed his happiness stating that VCB has been an inspiration to the fellow CUBs and also to the new CUBs which are coming into the service newly.

Chairman Raghavendra Rao thanked people for showing overwhelming response and support towards opening of a cooperative bank’s branch. He said because of this trust only the Visakhapatnam Cooperative Bank is able to continue for last 102 years and has a business spread in 50 branches and 13 ATMs in twin states.

He also said that although the central government is working against the development of the cooperative sector by the way taxing members of the cooperative banks, demonetisation, introducing GST and FRDI bill but still the cooperative sector is able work positively against all these odds.

CEO P V Narasimha Murthy and team of Directors were a busy lot overseeing the preparations of the grand opening of the 50th branch.
