Going cashless: Dehradun DCCB ties up with Yes Bank

In a bid to tackle the situation arising out of demonetization, Dehradun District Cooperative Bank has launched “Pay through Sim” app in collaboration with Yes Bank last week in the bank’s headquarters.

Talking to this correspondent Chairman of the bank Dr K S Rana said “We had launched a small device namely “Pay through Sim” an sms based app with a stick that can be inserted in a slim slot of mobile. Through this depositors can pay their electricity bill, mobile recharge, and air and railway tickets without the help of Internet and it’s a Taiwanese technology,” he added.

‘It can be operated in any phone, there is no need to buy smart phone to enjoy the services of “Pay through Sim” and in remote areas it will be a great help. The cost of small chip is about 200 per chip for life time. The sim chip will soon be distributed among branches of the bank and our bank will be the first bank in the country to have launched this facility for the customers” said Rana proudly to this correspondent.

On this occasion Yes Bank MD and CEO Sanjeev Kapoor informed that with the help of this application the bank customers can enjoy all the banking activities. It will be a contribution towards a cashless India, he added.

Dehradun District Cooperative Bank has 20 branches with 85 thousand account holders.
