Cosmos Chairman honoured by Merchant Chamber

COSMOS BANKKrishnakumar Goyal chairman of one of the leading urban cooperative banks of the country, Cosmos Bank received the coveted Adarsha Vyapari Uttam Puraskar 2014.

The award was given by Poona Merchants Chamber. Goyal received the award from the hands of Fadnavis, President – Maharashtra State, BJP recently.

This award is given in the memory of late Uttamchandji Pokarna for outstanding work in the fields of business and trade. Goyal is credited with taking the UCB with the support of Board and members to still greater heights after he took over.

According to Cosmos bank website the bank was established in 1906 and is the second oldest & second largest bank in the country. The Bank has recently completed 108 years of service successfully.

The website claims the bank has nurtured its traditional values in business practices and in serving the small customers. At the same time it has adopted new technologies and advanced banking tools to add value to its services.

The financial setup of the bank as on 31.03.2014 was ? 25028 crore, comprising of deposits of ? 14733 crore and advances ? 10295 crore.

It operates through 134 branches and 1 special service cell in India spread across 6 States and in 37 major Cities.
