Cosmos bank’s saving accounts linked to Aadhaar

The saving bank accounts in the Cosmos Co-operative Bank Ltd, a multi-state scheduled co-operative bank based in Pune will be linked to “Aadhaar”. Aadhaar card is the flag-ship project of UPA govt.

Cosmos Bank’s Chairman, Krishnakumar Goyal informed that Cosmos Bank has signed an agreement with National Payment Corporation of India (NPCI) for linking its saving bank accounts with “Aadhaar”.

This agreement will facilitate the easy linkage of all the saving bank accounts in 134 branches of Cosmos Bank with “Aadhaar”.

Mr. Goyal informed that with this service it will be possible to credit various remittances from state as well as central government directly to the saving bank accounts of its customers. To utilize this service, customers will have to notify their Aadhaar Card number at the branch of Cosmos Bank where they have their saving bank accounts.

After this notification their account will be linked to “Aadhaar”. This service will be available to existing as well as new customers.

This service is available across 134 branches of Cosmos Bank in 6 states viz., Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradash and Karnataka. The detailed information regarding this service has already been given to all branches. On behalf of the bank, Mr. Goyal requested all the customers to take advantage of this service.
