PM’s review meeting: Farmers & fertilizers in sharp focus

A methodological man that he is, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has begun to take review meeting with his entire council of ministers on every last Wednesday of the month with special focus on a few chosen ministries.

And this Wednesday it was the turn of Agriculture and allied ministries. A times of India report says” ministries related to the farm sector like agriculture and fertilisers were in focus.”

The meet reviewed the status of implementation of several key government decisions taken in the last 18 months since the NDA came to power. According to sources, Cabinet secretary P K Sinha made a presentation on agriculture with secretaries of related ministries departments like rural development and fertilizer, among others, making interventions, says a TOI report.

The concern of the Prime Minister has arisen in the face of reports that policies though announced with fanfare are not implemented with the same enthusiasm.

Prime Minister has also asked for strict disciplinary action against the erring officials. He said so while chairing ninth interaction through PRAGATI – the ICT-based, multi-modal platform for Pro-Active Governance and Timely Implementation.
