Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah informed the Lok Sabha that 1,869 Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS) are currently functioning as Common Service Centres (CSCs) in Andhra Pradesh, expanding access to digital and citizen-centric services in rural areas.
In a written reply, Shah said the Ministry of Cooperation, in collaboration with CSC e-Governance Services India Ltd. (CSC SPV), is facilitating eligible PACS to function as CSCs across the country.
According to the Minister, 1,958 PACS in Andhra Pradesh have been onboarded as CSCs, of which 1,869 are active, while 89 remain inactive.
The PACS-turned-CSCs provide a wide range of services, including banking and financial services, insurance, Aadhaar-enabled services, utility bill payments, PAN card services, agricultural services, as well as various Government-to-Citizen (G2C) and Business-to-Citizen (B2C) services.
Shah said the performance of PACS functioning as CSCs is monitored periodically through review meetings and status reports received from CSC SPV.
Among the districts, Krishna (381 active CSCs), East Godavari (288) and West Godavari (251) account for the highest number of operational PACS functioning as Common Service Centres in the state.
