The Ministry of Cooperation has stepped up efforts to expand insurance services for the cooperative sector, with Secretary Dr. Ashish Bhutani chairing a high-level review meeting in New Delhi on Monday to assess the progress of the proposed Cooperative Life Insurance entity and deliberate on matters relating to IFFCO Tokio General Insurance.
Held at Atal Akshay Urja Bhawan, the meeting reviewed the current status of the proposed life insurance initiative, examined key operational and strategic issues, and discussed measures to strengthen insurance penetration among cooperative institutions in line with the vision of ‘Sahkar Se Samriddhi’.
The meeting was attended by Raman Kumar, Joint Secretary; Kumar Ram Krishna, Director, Ministry of Cooperation; Kirit Kumar J. Patel, Managing Director, IFFCO; Ramesh Kumar, Director; Subrata Mondal, Managing Director & CEO, IFFCO Tokio General Insurance; and other senior Ministry officials and key stakeholders from the cooperative sector.
