The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) celebrated its 45th Foundation Day, commemorating four-and-a-half decades of driving rural transformation through innovation, resilience, and inclusive development while renewing its commitment to building a sustainable and empowered rural India.
Extending his greetings on the occasion, Dr Shaji Krishnan V., Chairman, NABARD, said the institution has played a pivotal role in shaping India’s rural development journey over the past 45 years. He thanked the Government of India, state governments, partner institutions, and stakeholders for their unwavering support, and acknowledged the dedication of the entire NABARD family in building the institution’s legacy.
Looking ahead, Dr Shaji reaffirmed NABARD’s focus on strengthening resilient rural economies, accelerating technology-led innovation, deepening financial inclusion, and advancing sustainable development in line with the vision of Viksit Bharat.
The Foundation Day celebrations were attended by Goverdhan S. Rawat, Dr Ajay K. Sood, and Rakesh Kashyap, Deputy Managing Directors of NABARD, who congratulated the organisation on achieving the significant milestone.
The event also recognised the outstanding contributions of District Development Managers (DDMs) through a special awards ceremony, highlighting their role in advancing NABARD’s rural development initiatives across the country.
