Indian Potash Limited (IPL) and UPL Sustainable Agri Solutions Limited have signed a three-year partnership to promote sustainable sugarcane cultivation and improve farmer incomes in the catchment area of IPL’s Kodinar Sugar Mill in Gujarat.
The initiative will cover around 2,000 acres and aims to raise sugarcane productivity by at least 15 per cent through regenerative agriculture, scientific crop management, digital technologies and farmer training.
The collaboration will focus on efficient use of seed, soil, water and fertilizers, along with sustainable crop protection and residue management. Farmer services will be digitized through the nurture.farm platform, enabling onboarding, geofencing, monitoring and impact assessment.
The programme will also leverage digital outreach through WhatsApp and YouTube to accelerate adoption of best practices.
According to IPL Chief Agricultural Scientist Dr. U. S. Teotia, the partnership will strengthen farmer engagement, enhance cane productivity and create a replicable model for sustainable sugarcane farming.
UPL SAS said the collaboration combines scientific agronomy, regenerative agriculture and digital tools to improve productivity, profitability and environmental outcomes while advancing climate-smart agriculture.
