National Urban Cooperative Finance and Development Corporation (NUCFDC) Chairman Jyotindra Mehta has extended his heartfelt congratulations to Sahakar Taxi Chairman Jayen Mehta, describing the initiative as a transformative step for India’s mobility sector and the cooperative movement.
In a congratulatory letter, Mehta said the cooperative-based ride-hailing platform, being launched under the guidance of Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah, has the potential to redefine urban transport through a driver-owned model.
He said Sahakar Taxi would generate meaningful employment opportunities for thousands of youth, ensure better earnings for drivers through transparent revenue sharing and lower commission costs, and strengthen the spirit of cooperation by integrating it with technology-driven public transport.
Mehta further noted that Gujarat has a rich legacy of successful cooperative institutions and expressed confidence that Sahakar Taxi could emerge as a national benchmark, demonstrating that growth, fairness and cooperative values can go hand in hand. He also conveyed NUCFDC’s wholehearted support to the initiative and wished the team success in its journey ahead.
