Amul is set to lay the foundation stone for a new dairy plant in West Bengal on June 14 with an investment of Rs 700 crore, marking one of the first major industrial projects under the state’s new government.
The ceremony is expected to be attended by Union Home Minister Amit Shah. The project is aimed at strengthening dairy processing infrastructure and expanding organised dairy operations in eastern India. Industry observers believe the investment will boost
West Bengal’s dairy ecosystem, generate employment and improve value-chain efficiencies. The facility is also expected to support farmers, encourage agro-processing growth and reinforce the state’s position as an emerging investment destination.
Amul’s expansion reflects its continued focus on value-added dairy products and regional market growth.
