As part of the nationwide “PRARAMBH 2026” campaign, the Directorate of Income Tax (Intelligence & Criminal Investigation)-2, New Delhi organised an outreach programme last week to create awareness about the New Income Tax Act, 2025 and Income Tax Rules, 2026 among cooperative banks and financial institutions.

Representatives from cooperative banks and other reporting entities participated in the programme held under the guidance of the Pr. Director General of Income Tax (I&CI), Delhi. A special “KAR SATHI” kiosk was set up to demonstrate AI-enabled taxpayer assistance tools available on the Income Tax portal.

Participants were also informed about simplified compliance mechanisms, FAQs, guidance notes, Samvaad sessions, Madhukar social media outreach, and digital assistance through the “Kar Sathi” chatbot.

Bhagwati Charan, IRS, Addl. DIT, highlighted taxpayer-friendly reforms and simplified provisions under the new law, while Pinaki Choudhuri, ADIT, explained important amendments in tax-related forms, including provisions relating to Virtual Digital Assets (VDAs).

The programme concluded with an interactive session where officials addressed queries raised by representatives of cooperative banks and other institutions.
