Karnataka State Souharda Federal Cooperative Ltd. (KSSFCL) organised a three-day Skill Development and Professional Development Training Programme for its employees from May 22 to May 24 at Rajeshwari National College in Karkala of Udupi district.
The programme was aimed at strengthening the professional capabilities of employees and enhancing their efficiency in cooperative administration and service delivery.
The inaugural session was held on May 22 in the presence of senior officials, faculty members, and participants from different branches and cooperative institutions associated with KSSFCL. The programme was inaugurated by Sri G. Nanjana Gowda, President of KSSFCL, who lit the ceremonial lamp and formally launched the training initiative.
Addressing the gathering, Gowda highlighted the growing importance of skill enhancement and continuous learning in the cooperative sector. He said that employees of cooperative institutions must remain updated with changing administrative practices, technological advancements, and customer service expectations.
He noted that professional development programmes help employees improve their knowledge, strengthen their confidence, and perform their responsibilities more effectively.
He further stated that cooperative institutions play a major role in rural and semi-urban economic development, and therefore the quality of services delivered by employees becomes extremely important. According to him, well-trained staff members can contribute significantly to improving operational efficiency, member satisfaction, and institutional growth.
The training programme included sessions on professional ethics, communication skills, office management, leadership qualities, teamwork, customer relations, and cooperative administration. Resource persons and trainers from different professional backgrounds interacted with the participants and shared practical insights related to workplace efficiency and organisational discipline.
Special emphasis was reportedly given to modern management practices and the role of technology in cooperative functioning. Participants were encouraged to adopt innovative methods in administration and improve coordination among departments. Interactive discussions and group activities were also conducted during the sessions to promote practical learning and employee participation.
Officials associated with the programme said the initiative was designed not only to improve technical and administrative knowledge but also to motivate employees and build a stronger professional culture within the organisation. They observed that such training activities help employees adapt to emerging challenges in the cooperative sector and prepare them for greater responsibilities in future.
The three-day programme concluded on May 24 with positive feedback from participants, who appreciated the opportunity to learn from experts and exchange experiences with colleagues.
Organisers expressed hope that the knowledge and skills gained during the training would help employees contribute more effectively to the objectives and long-term development of KSSFCL and the cooperative movement in Karnataka.
