In a significant development for the urban cooperative banking sector, the Reserve Bank of India has approved a three-year extension for Jagdish Kashyap as Chief Executive Officer of Janata Sahakari Bank, Pune.
Kashyap, whose current term was scheduled to conclude on May 31, has now received regulatory approval to continue as CEO until 2029, ensuring continuity in the bank’s leadership at a time of steady growth and expansion.
Having served as the bank’s CEO for the past five years, Kashyap is credited with introducing several operational and managerial reforms that strengthened the bank’s governance framework and improved its financial performance.
Under his leadership, the bank placed strong emphasis on business expansion, technology adoption, compliance systems and customer service enhancement.
Janata Sahakari Bank, Pune has witnessed consistent operational growth during FY 2025–26. The Maharashtra-based cooperative bank reported total business crossing Rs 17,522.57 crore, reflecting healthy year-on-year growth and reinforcing its position in the urban cooperative banking sector.
