Sikkim State Cooperative Union hosted a three-day national-level residential training programme on “Innovative Technology and Norms of RBI/NABARD”, focusing on technology-driven transformation in the cooperative banking sector.
The programme, organised by Cooperative Bank of India in collaboration with SICUN at Assam Lingzey, concluded on May 19 with participation from around 40 representatives of cooperative banks from across the country.
Mangal Jit Rai attended the valedictory function as Chief Guest, while Bibha Singh was present as Special Guest.
Addressing the participants, Dr. Rai said technology is rapidly transforming the banking and cooperative sector through digital banking, online services and secure payment systems. He noted that initiatives by the Reserve Bank of India and National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development are helping promote transparency, financial inclusion and efficient banking services, particularly in rural areas.
He also stressed the importance of regulatory compliance, cyber security and customer protection for sustainable growth of cooperative banking institutions.
The welcome address was delivered by Ashish Dubey. The programme concluded with discussions on innovative banking practices and distribution of certificates to participants.
