The Ministry of Cooperation on Thursday organized a regional workshop in Aizawl aimed at strengthening the cooperative movement across the Northeastern states through innovation, capacity building and financial inclusion initiatives.
According to the Ministry, representatives from several Northeastern states are participating in the workshop, which seeks to promote cooperation-driven development and expand the role of cooperatives in the region’s economic growth. The event is being held under the guidance of Narendra Modi and the leadership of Amit Shah.
The Ministry described the initiative as the beginning of a “new era in cooperation” in the Northeast, with discussions focused on strengthening grassroots cooperative institutions, improving governance and enhancing access to financial and livelihood opportunities in rural and semi-urban areas.
The workshop is expected to encourage greater collaboration among cooperative stakeholders from the region and help formulate strategies for sustainable cooperative development tailored to the unique socio-economic needs of the Northeastern states.
