The Chairman of Gujarat State Agriculture Cooperative Development Bank, popularly known as Kheti Bank, Dolar Kotecha, paid a courtesy visit to Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendrabhai Patel on Saturday, urging the reintroduction of the One Time Settlement (OTS) Scheme to provide relief to farmers.

Kotecha was accompanied by the bank’s General Manager, K.B. Patel. During the meeting, the delegation briefed the Chief Minister on various farmer-centric schemes being implemented by the bank and emphasized the need for their wider and more effective outreach among small and marginal farmers across the state.

A formal representation was submitted regarding the revival of the OTS Scheme. The Chief Minister responded positively to the proposal and offered guidance on taking the matter forward.

Discussions also covered the Rs 25,000 Damdupat Scheme, aimed at offering financial relief to farmers who had availed agricultural loans up to Rs 25,000 on or before 2018. The provisions of the scheme were explained in detail, highlighting its potential impact on easing the debt burden of small borrowers.

The bank reiterated its commitment to farmer welfare, aligning its initiatives with the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah, focusing on financial empowerment and sustainable rural development.
